MAINTAINING CERTIFICATION
RECERTIFICATION PROCESS
PDMA has a policy and process for recertification for new product development professionals. This policy and process are in force for those who have both granted and regular certification. The primary criterion for renewal of an individual's certification is active pursuit of additional new product development knowledge. Click here to learn more and for a list of qualifying PDH's.
RECERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
To renew certification, an individual is required to obtain 60 PDHs over a three-year period beginning on the date NPDP certification is awarded. To review the items that lead to PDHs and the number of PDHs that can be obtained through volunteer work, click here.
If you are a PDMA member, sign in to your PDMA member home page and choose "Certification Tools/PDHs" to update your PDH hours.

REINSTATEMENT
Should a candidate not achieve recertification status, and allow their NPDP certification to lapse, they can reinstate it at a later date. An individual does this by completing the application for reinstatement found HERE and paying the reinstatement fee. For those who have previously taken the exam this will include either retaking the exam or documenting the 60 Professional Development Hours to show continuing active involvement in the field of product development and paying the reinstatement fee. If you were originally granted certification, you will now be required to take the exam. The reinstatement fee for PDMA members is $250 and $450 for non-members. This does not include the prevailing cost to take the exam should that be necessary.
