How do you cut development times in half on your first Lean Product Development project?  It’s not easy, but it is possible. ConMed Electrosurgery and BAE SYSTEMS are two very different companies with very different projects and challenges. But they had the same goal and they both used a solution that is a blend of methods taken from Don Reinertsen’s Lean Principles, Theory of Constraints, and other unique techniques. And in the end, they both completed their projects in half the time, and for half the budget, that it previously took to complete similar projects. Both of these companies recently gave presentations on their results at the National Lean Product Development Conference (www.lppde.org ) in South Carolina. In this presentation, David will review their presentations, the challenges they faced, and the solutions they used. This is a unique opportunity to ask questions and interact directly with people that have recently solved their development schedule and budget challenges.
